I have been going to Oak and Iron fitness since August. The moment I walked into this gym, I was greeted by Diana, one of the warmest people I have had the pleasure of meeting and an amazing trainer. I was also greeted by Matt, the owner, who is also an amazing person and trainer. It was a no-brainer for me to join this gym. Everyone that works here and works out here are all phenomenal people. This is more than just a gym, it is community. I feel something missing when I can't make it to a Monday Lift with Ghage (another fabulous trainer) or miss my Friday Lift with Diana. If you are looking for a place to workout and start your fitness journey, look no further than Oak and Iron. The only push is to be better than you were yesterday. You OWE it to yourself to join the O+I family!

Oak and Iron Fitness is an incredibly welcoming gym with a strong sense of community. You can start at any fitness level and feel supported from day one. The trainers are knowledgeable, encouraging, and truly care about your progress. I have made great improvements in my strength since joining, and I genuinely look forward to every workout.

The coaches are knowledgeable and do a great job teaching proper technique and guiding me through new workouts. The programming is challenging yet sustainable, keeping me fit into my 30s. The community is friendly and welcoming, and I especially enjoy the LIFT classes.

As a physical therapist who specializes in working with runners and lifelong athletes over 30, I’ve learned one thing: long-term results don’t come from a few weeks of rehab, they come from staying strong, staying consistent, and staying active after physiotherapy ends.

Finding the right group training environment for "maturing" athletes isn’t always easy (I include myself as a 50 year old fitness enthusiast). You need smart coaching, challenging but safe workouts, and a community that actually supports you instead of crushing you.

If you’re in the Raleigh or Cary area, Oak and Iron is one of the few places I confidently recommend to my clients. I’m a member myself, and after training at both locations, I can say the workouts are well-designed, safe, efficient, and challenging; this is exactly what lifelong athletes need to stay healthy and performing at a high level.

If you’re looking for a training home with great coaching and a like-minded community, Oak and Iron in Raleigh and Cary is absolutely worth checking out.

A few weeks I wondered into this gym after finding it on a class pass app… the very 1st day I was incredibly anxious as I am in no way a gym buff but I was so pleasantly surprised! They were so welcoming and accommodating!

Since then I’ve been back pretty much weekly to the LIFT class and even a couple of STEADY classes. I’ve seen the progress in myself and have pushed myself to new accomplishments with the help of some amazing people !

Fantastic Coaches & Real Results!

I've been training at Oak and Iron for a year and couldn’t be happier. I attend the weekday lunchtime group classes—weights on M/W/F with Coach Matt (He is the owner), and conditioning on T/Th with Coaches Diana and Melody, who always push us hard.

When I joined, my goal was to lose stubborn waist fat. They explained the importance of full-body training, and they were right—I’m now leaner, stronger, and have way more energy. The coaching, community, and consistency here truly work.

Highly recommend Oak and Iron to anyone serious about getting in shape!
I’ve been a member at Oak and Iron since December 2022, and after taking some time off to have a baby, coming back reminded me how much I missed it. Every workout leaves me feeling empowered and stronger. The team culture is incredibly supportive, motivating, and welcoming. It’s more than just a gym, it truly feels like a community. I’m so grateful to be back!

Oak and Iron is an incredible gym. The people here are genuinely kind, and the coaches go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and at home from day one. It’s a professional environment, but never intimidating. The workouts are versatile and thoughtfully structured. There’s enough variety to keep things interesting, yet enough consistency to build real progress. That balance is exactly what keeps people like me coming back and staying committed. Highly recommend!

I’ve been training at Oak & Iron for the past 3 years, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. The facility is clean, well-equipped, and has a great energy from the moment you walk in.

What really sets this gym apart are the trainers. They are incredibly knowledgeable and motivating. Every session is tailored, challenging, and fun!

I have been a member at Oak and Iron Fitness for over a year and a half and it has been the best gym experience I have ever had. The community is supportive, motivating, and fun. The coaches are knowledgeable and make every session both challenging and enjoyable while keeping proper form and safety a priority.

The programming is excellent. It is a well balanced mix of strength training, high intensity workouts, and zone 2 cardio that keeps things fresh and effective. It is a complete system that delivers results you can see and feel in your strength, endurance, and overall health. What I really appreciate is that it is designed for longevity. I can confidently see myself continuing this program well into my later years because it builds strength and conditioning without breaking down the body.

What has kept me consistent is not only the physical transformation but the mental one as well. I feel stronger, more confident, and less stressed. Oak and Iron has truly been life changing.

Whether you are new to fitness or have been training for years, this is a place where you can thrive. It is more than a gym. It is a community that pushes you to be your best.

This review is long overdue but much deserved to the Oak and Iron team. My husband and I were newer to Raleigh and tried a couple different gyms but nothing really stuck. From our first class at O&I we knew it was exactly what we were looking for. The programing is top notch and carefully curated each week to help you grow stronger no matter what level you are starting from. Every single instructor truly cares about each client, making an effort to get to know you as a person as well as your strength goals. The owner Matt is awesome and his passion for fitness, intentional form, and overall wellbeing shines through to every aspect of the business. And lastly, the community of clients there is really something special. Getting to workout in a group setting everyday opened up the opportunity for friendship, encouragement and even networking. I never walked away from a class not feeling supported either physically and mentally.

We unfortunately just relocated and moved a little too far away and had to find a gym closer to home to stay consistent, but I would HIGHLY recommend Oak and Iron to anyone looking for more than just a gym in the Raleigh or Cary area!
